The Not MyCHOICE PROGRAMS-NOT WHAT THEY SEEM

Crowley began to offer school choice programs at various campuses to bring back, the old Crowley folks who left because of the decline of the district academically.  They need the money back!

The way that it was sold it seemed to be for all students but they forgot to disclose many details that left parents upset.  The district boasts about 600 applicants.

One particular program is the Inspire Academy which is designed for students who are two years behind academically and it was created by the Director of PD-Treat since she is the darling of the district.  No one else was able to produce their own but she did.. initially it was to be held at Crowley Middle School.  The initial enrollment was to be 200-250 but the selling part did not come through because students were already being labeled behind and suddenly it was a point of pride to be selected.. NOT.. students did not want to leave their home campus and so the scramble began for what to do.

First they hired Ms. Dixon to take over the project and sell it to parents.  That did not work!
Our sources tell us that now they are offering it all middle schools, no new teachers will be hired, so no extra money to spend.  Now they will use current teachers at the school and give them money to teach at risk students.  Interesting that they get money and the other teachers who teach at-risk students do not get the extra.  It seems the money is for extra training since they will only teach 20 students max.. sweet deal.  So everything is being imposed from central office as always..

So now you are paying a dean like an AP to drive around... be the voice of all minority children and work on 80 students and leave the rest behind.  When you move a program into a school it ceases to be a "choice school", it has become another program in a school that is not different, except for the cash, the 20:1 and special attention, money that will not be spent for the other students.

Don't be surprised that other programs have something hidden that parents do not know.  We will expose as much as we get from our readers.
